Preserving the Spirit of Paso:Our Floral Collaboration with the Paso Robles Inn
At The Pressed Petal Co., every pressed flower tells a story—and some projects tell the story of an entire place. One of our most meaningful collaborations to date was with Blanc Space Art and the Paso Robles Inn, where we had the honor of creating two large-scale pressed floral art pieces to celebrate the hotel’s historic revamp.
What made this project truly special was its rootedness—literally. We harvested every bloom, leaf, and stem directly from the inn’s lush property. Wandering the grounds, we carefully selected plant life that reflected the natural beauty and character of the space: Japanese Maple, Wax-Leaf Privet, Deodar Cedar, Sacred Bamboo, Indian Hawthorn, Rapeseed, and more. Each piece of foliage was gathered with intention, knowing it would be preserved as a part of the inn’s story.
To bring this vision to life, we custom-built oversized flower presses to properly dry the large leaves and complex textures. Then, we had two 36" x 36" frames made just for this installation. After mocking up several designs for the agency’s review, we meticulously arranged, assembled, and framed the final compositions.
This wasn’t a quick project—it was a year-long process of patience, care, and creativity.
And now, the finished works live on in the lobby of the Paso Robles Inn, offering a botanical time capsule of the land it stands on.
We’re beyond proud to have played a role in honoring the heritage of this iconic local landmark. If you find yourself at the Paso Robles Inn, take a moment to stop, look closely, and take in the layers of nature and memory preserved in these pieces.
